building
a basic web page
1. text
Text may be arranged and adjusted similar to text
in a word processor by
- size - from sizes 1 to 7
- style - a range available including
bold and italics
- colour
- font - although it is a good general rule to
stick with the "none" font as it will then be easily readable by
any computer (your favourite font may not be available on every
recipient)
Text can be cut, copied and pasted as in a word
processor application.
Most of the text tools are easily accessable from
the lower bar on screen.
By rolling the cursor over each icon its purpose is displayed in the
space above the B and I icons.
More help is available from the Help drop-down window at the top of
the screen.
SIMPLE TIPS:
- There is no need to press Return unless you
require a new paragraph or a particular new line. Home Page will
auomatically wrap to the next line upon reaching the edge of the
page. Thus it will also adjust for each computer screen it is seen
on.
- Home Page automatically double spaces when you
press Return for a new line. To single space hold the "shift" key
down when pressing Return.
- If you require a larger gap than a single
space hold the Option key down whilst pressing the Space Bar. Home
Page otherwise only allows one space beteen letters or
words.
- Try not to use dark blue and especially
underline it as underlined
dark blue is the generally recognised
colour for links.
