building a basic web page

1.Preferences

BEFORE YOU START - create and name a folder which will hold all the files and images for your page/s. You may wish to create an "images" folder inside this one to keep images separate - this is not necessary but does keep you files tidier.

It is good management (and saves a lot of heartbreak) to set these simple preferences when you commence any new page.

Open Preferences, found under Edit in the Menu Bar.

In the General window click the Auto-save documents every 5 minutes

In the Images window ....

• Click in Convert and save automatically to folder: (or you may wish to use the "Prompt for File Name/Location" which allows you more control, esp in naming images)

Then Browse and locate and select the folder you created in which you wish to save your images for this page/s

Click OK
