6. Links and Anchors
Any text element or graphic image on your page can
be a hypertext link to another page in your Web site or to a URL on
the world wide web.
LINKS to URLs
- Highlight the text or image you wish to make
into a link
- Select the Link Editor
The window below will open

- Either type the URL in (if you know it) or
Browse Files if the URL is in one of your folders.
NB: URLs can be copied and pasted in.
- The Text or Image will change to
underlined
blue to identify it as a link.
NB: Text in colours other than black or default will not
change colour.
ANCHORS
You can create links that jump to anchors on the same page that
contains the link or that jump to anchors on other pages in your Web
site. This is especially useful if you intend using an Index with a
lot of articles on the one page.
- Place the cursor where you would like the
anchor to be and select the Insert Anchor icon

The window below will open

- Name the Anchor (something simple is best)
- Highlight the text or image which will serve
as the link to the anchor. For example if you click on
Anchor
here the link will jump to the top of the page.
