Bedgerabong Public
School, established 1876, is nestled amongst the trees on
the Northern side of the Lachlan river 35 kilometres from
Forbes. The school features large spacious grounds, native
gardens, special programs in technology , music and early
literacy. As the village of Bedgerabong is small and
composed of just the school, showground/racecourse/hall and
the church, the school and community share a common focus
and work together to allow the students of the district
every opportunity to succeed, with many of the resources and
extra curricular programs at the school either being
supported, or initiated by the community. The school holds a
lot of history with many families having had children
parents, grandparents and even great grandparents attending
the school. The current
enrolment of 38 students and two full time teachers is a
fairly average statistic for the school over the past 20
years. However an interesting fact is the longevity of three
principals who served at the school for a combined 84 years
from 1912 to 1996. Visit
