THE SNOWY MOUNTAINS SCHEME

The mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme is an integrated water and hydro-electric power project located in Australia's Southern Alps. It played a vital role in the growth and development of Australia's national economy by diverting water for irrigation via the Murray and Murrumbidgee River Systems and producing clean, renewable energy. It is regarded as the birthplace of multiculturalism in Australia.
