Overview:
Integrating schools is an innovative program which provides the opportunity for the schools involved to network expertise and overcome isolation through regular school visits to a larger school. Students and teachers from Marra Creek and Nymagee Public Schools visit Nyngan Public School allowing for learning to take place in a larger educational setting, for teachers to team teach and undertake professional development, greater acces to LD programs, for students and teachers to become more familiar with computers and the internet and for small school communities to make use of the facilities of a larger town (libraryt, sporting venues etc).
Implementation
Parents and teachers of all schools introduced to Integrating Schools.
Students and teachers from marra Creek and Nymagee Public Schools visit Nyngan PS on a regular basis.
Students placed in a home class corresponding to that of their generic class and participate in class, stage and whole school routines and activities.
Students with demonstrated learning difficulties assessed.
STLD and class teachers develop individual programs to cater for learning difficulties.
Assessment/evaluation of students/program to take place every four weeks.
