Can you tessellate?
Design interesting 2 dimensional shapes that will tessellate.

Use computer drawing tools to create a tessellating design by copying and pasting and rotating your 2D shape.
Save you design as a file to submit your response. Your file must be less than 100kb.
For ideas go to the CAP Research Modules Tessellations link.

What did you have to find out?
First I had to find out what tessellate meant.
Secondly I had to find out how to make a tessellating shape.
What materials did you use?
I used Google to look at some photos of tessellating shapes.
I also used paper to practise my design.
When I was sure that my shape was how I wanted it to be I went onto AppleWorks Drawing to draw my design.
How did you think? What strategies did you use? How did you solve this problem?
I practised a couple of times on paper to see what designs I could come up with and when I found the one I liked most I stuck with it.
I had a look around the room to see what my classmates had come up with and got some ideas. I drew the pattern on my computer and I was done.
What answers did you come up with?
I used four hexagons and four triangles to make my tessellating pattern, then it formed into what I thought was a good shape to use.
I will send in my tessellating pattern using my school E-mail account.
