Virtual Excursion to our remote schools Riverina CAP
Using a combination of google maps, video conferencing and bridgit, students are able to bring visitors into their schools where ordinarily this would not be possible due to the vast distances. Students are enriching their visitors' excursion experience by adding a variety of additional information such as text, photos and videos into their personalised google maps. Where time zones do not permit synchronous excursions, our global friends can drop in to visit our schools on the google maps and then leave comments and questions in our specially created edmodo groups.
Through this experience our students have found they share many things in common with other schools. Monteagle Public School whilst hosting their virtual excursion discovered that Jennings Public School in the far north of the state also have large leafy grounds and experience a range of wildlife such as kangaroos and snakes!
Our most outstanding CAP students from Monteagle, Beckom and Weethalle Public Schools have stepped up to prepare, plan and run a virtual excursion experience for their visitors from Moama, Jennings, Ariah Park and Moulamein Public Schools. Ariah Park, Moama, Tumbarumba and Wyalong students are busy preparing their upcoming virtual excursions to be held later this term.
