Australia's Olympic Hall Of Fame

Australia has a proud record of achievement at the Olympic Games winning many medals in a wide range of sports. How would you select our "best" after more than 100 years of competition?

Task Question:

Your aim is to choose 10 Australian Olympians to enter into the 'Olympic Hall Of Fame'.

Points to consider:

• There must be five males and five females.
• No more than two from any one sport.
• Teams can be included.
• You must decide the criteria by which you judge the Olympians. (Number of gold, silver or bronze medals / number of Olympic Games attended / world records achieved.
• Don't forget to consider the Winter and Paralympic events and athletes. 

You must present your findings as a news presentation in any media. (television, radio, newspaper)

Step 1: Organising Your Information

• Print the summary page.
• Use it to summarise your findings as you are doing step 2.

Step 3: What do I do with the information?

Record all relevant informtion on the summary page. You or your team must now choose your Olympians and give reasons for your choice.

Step 4: Presentation

Create your news report in your chosen media and present to the class.

It must include:

• an introduction of team members
• the summary chart
• your news presentation
• evidence of the contribution of all team members.
