POLLUTION ALERT!!
(see Sailing, Sinking, Soaring, Science & Tech. K-6 Stage 3)

BACKGROUND

Pollution is a major problem world wide and appears to be on the increase. Reports of blue-green algae outbreaks, ever increasing soil salinity, exhaust fume levels, chemical farming practices, mining practices and beach pollution are occurring more often. These pollutants have a harmful effect on all living things - plant, animal and human.

PROBLEM

The Pollution Action Team (PAT) has discovered an alarming increase in the pollution levels in your community

QUESTION

TASK ONE

1. Investigate 3 different types of pollution which may be affecting your local area and the effects they have on living things (animal, plant, human)
