ELIGIBILITY OF CREWS
A. Each crew, other than class 9, and class 4 vehicles, must contain a driver and navigator.
B .All crew members must be holders of an appropriate CAMS Licence. Any competitor found to have an unlicenced/uninsured/non-entered driver / navigator will be excluded from the event and the matter refered to the stewards.
C. Drivers must be at least 16 years of age. Navigators must be at least 14 years of age.
D.Competitors must wear:
* A helmet that complies with schedule D of the CAMS Manual.
* Non-flammable clothing, including cover from throat to wrist to ankles (apparel of nylon or similar material is forbidden).
* Suitable footwear (thongs, open sandals, high-heeled shoes and nylon joggers are forbidden).
* In open cars, goggles or a visor with lens material other than glass (to AS1609).
ENTRY FEES/COSTS.
A. Entries will cost $165.00 - $190.00.
B. Entries from competitors under 18 years of age must be countersigned/consented by a parent or legal guardian
C. Camping at the track is free.
SCRUTINEERING
* PARTICULAR ATTENTION DURING SCRUTINEERING WILL BE PAID TO; HELMET TO ROOF CLEARANCE.
* THE START LINE OFFICIAL WILL BE CHECKING SECURITY OF WINDOW NETS AND CRUTCH STRAPS, AND WRIST
RESTRAINTS.
* All Competition Vehicles to be kept in pit area from commencement of reconnaissance until the end of the final heat of the day.
* No welding to be carried out in the pit area.
INSURANCE
A. Public risk insurance has been effected by the organisers.
B. Personal accident insurance is affected by the purchase of a CAMS off road licence.
ALCOHOL/SMOKING/REFUELLING
A. The consumption of alcohol, and smoking by anyone in the pit area is forbidden. No alcohol is to be consumed by competing drivers and navigators untill the conclusion of the event. Alcohol Blood Level for Competitors, Crew and Officials is 0.00mg/100ml. Any breach of this regulation invites exclusion from the event.
B. Refuelling is to be conducted in the pit area only.
SAMPLE EVENT FORMAT
A. Saturday's competition will be confined to the shorter course. It will comprise of 3 heats of 3 laps each, in groups of up to 10, at 20 second intervals, two vehicles at a time, fastest to slowest in class where possible.
BS unday's competition will comprise of 3 heats of 3 laps each around the full off road course and will be started one at a time at 20 second intervals in groups of up to 14. The 3rd long heatwill be run in reverse direction.
C. Vehicles that arrive late will only be allowed to start from the rear of the grid, provided that the starter considers it safe to do so. The vehicle will be timed from the time it should have left the start line in their group. Vehicles that miss the start in their group will not be permitted to start in that heat.
D. No vehicle will be permitted back onto the track after visiting the pits during timed competition.
E. Any vehicle causing a stoppage of a group will incur a 1 minute penalty, to restart in that heat.
DRIVER'S BRIEFING
Driver's briefing will be held at 8.00am on Saturday and Sunday, outside the canteen at the main camping area. Attendance at briefings is compulsory, and failure to attend either briefing will result in a 2 minute time penalty imposed against that entry. Either driver or navigator must sign on at both briefings. All Pit Crew must sign on at Event Headquarters.
RECONNAISSANCE
Reconnaissance for Saturday: Short track 8.30 &endash; 8.45am window to start reconnaissance. Sunday: Long track 8.15 - forward direction, On completion of lunch break, - reverse direction.
PENALTIES
As per CAMS manual, with the following additions
Jumping the start - 1 minute
Deliberate short cutting - 3 minutes per offence
Dangerous driving - Disqualification (as determined by stewards)
Deliberate Interference - 2 minutes per offence
Failure to attend briefing - 2 minutes per offence
Holding the start - 1 minute
NOTE : NO EXPLOSIVES OR FIREWORKS ALLOWED. OFFENDERS, THEIR TEAM, & CREW WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE EVENT.
