JAPANESE HOLIDAY

CONGRATULATIONS!

Your family has won a two week holiday to Japan to be taken any time throughout the next twelve months. You will need to consider the three cities listed below as to which city you will stay in.

Tokyo

Nagasaki

Hakone

Your families interests include:

Traditional Japanese sports, Arts and Crafts, Performing Arts, Local Cuisine, History, Animal Sanctuaries and Nature.

Prize conditions

Your family must stay in only one city, selected from the list and can travel to other places of interest on day trips only.

Your task

With a partner you need to research each of the three cities and collect information as to which places of interest your family can visit. Consideration needs to be taken as to which time of the year would be most appropriate for your family to visit these tourist destinations.

Presentation of your Decision

Your findings will be presented in the form of a talk and a detailed written explanation. (handwritten or computer)

Your presentation must include;

1.    A map of Japan showing each of the three cities and highlighting your chosen holiday destination.

2.    A picture of the Japanese Flag (drawn using a computer program)

3.     An explanation of...

        a)  why you selected that particular city

        b)  the time of year in which you will visit.

        c)  the tourist attractions your family will see.

Any pictures or photographs that support your explanation may be used.

How will this be assessed?

   Teacher Assessment

   Marks will be given for your completed research table and the written explanation of your families holiday.

    Class Assessment

    When presenting your talk, the class will mark you on how interesting you present your decision.
