Let's Eat

Background:
Your team has been appointed the student supervisors for the school canteen. Your task is to design a recipe for the next "Fast Food Fun Day". The principal insists that the recipe be healthy and meet the needs of growing children. This means it should be good for growing children and meet all of their needs. The rest of the students have requested that the food be fun and interesting - McDonalds or Burger King hamburgers, pizza or Wendy's baked potatoes with cheese.

Task:
Discover the most nutritional fast food lunch choice for the special food day at your canteen. Remember you need your own recipes rather than a product from a nearby restaurant chain!!!

Areas you need to look at:
  1. basic nutritional needs of children aged 8 years to 12 years old.
  2. basic food pyramid for good eating habits
  3. dangers in food such as cholesterol, high sugar and salt content.
  4. recipes that work
  5. what is really in the food we eat
