Polar Bear

Polar bears are mammals, they live in the icy Arctic. Polar bears dig into the snow and make their homes, called dens. Their bodies help to keep the den warm.

Polar bears have a thick coat of white fur and have big heavy paws which also help them swim.

Polar bears are very large, they can grow up to 3 metres long and weigh as much as 800 kilograms.

Polar bears are carnivores, meaning they are meat eaters. They usually eat seals, fish and sea birds.

Polar bears can live for thirty years.
