Platypuses live in burrows that they dig close to rivers, streams and lakes.
They are mostly found in eastern Australia.
The platypus can dive down under the water for
about 2 minutes to collect food like worms, insects, snails and
yabbies. Platypuses can grow up to 60
centimetres long and weigh about 2 kilograms. In the wild, a platypus can live until
they are 12 years old.
