What you have to do!
Your task is to teach a younger
learner to count from one to ten in a language other than
English.
To do this you are required to make either a slide show, or a BIG
BOOK or wall charts.
Instructions
1. Select a language other than English.
2. Research how to write and pronounce the numbers one to ten in this
language.
3. Prepare a presentation which can be easily used by a younger
learner.

Are you a good teacher?
Bring your student to your
teacher along with your teaching aid.
Your teacher will ask your student to count to ten in the language
that you have chosen and ask the student if they liked your
teaching.
Your assignment will be assessed on the accuracy and quality of your
presentation and its effectiveness as a teaching tool for a younger
learner. Extension Work
Find out if there are any
counting patterns in the language you have chosen.
Can you see any similiarities in language sounds, e.g. initial
sounds?
Are there differences within counting systems across
cultures?
