Cows are one of the most important farm animals.  They are used for both food and drink. These foods come from cows: beef, veal, hamburgers, hot dogs, butter, cheese and ice cream. They can also be used for pulling heavy things. They are also used for belts, shoes and other pieces of clothing. Cows need green grasses to eat. They are always walking around looking for food to eat, so they need lots of space. Cows can live in both hot and cold places. Cows grow to one and a half metres tall and weigh up to 900 kilograms.
