Chickens are special because there are more chickens than any other kind of bird in the world.

Chickens give us: meat and eggs. They eat wheat and food scraps.

Chickens weigh up to 5 kilograms and their feathers help to keep them warm when it is cold. Some people think that their comb and earlobes also help to keep them cool.

Chickens can be farmed in 2 different ways. Some chickens are kept in small cages in sheds, other chickens are allowed to run around in a small area outside.
