Cabbage Patch Doll

In 1976, Xavier Roberts hand stitched the first Little People Dolls.  Two years later he sold them for an adoption fee of $40.

In 1982 the dolls were renamed The Cabbage Patch Kids. By the end of 1983 almost 3 million dolls were adopted. The Cabbage Patch Dolls became the doll most sold in shops.

In 1985 a Cabbage Patch Kid called 'Christopher Xavier' travelled on the US Space Shuttle.

In 2000, a Cabbage Patch Kid stamp was made.
