ZOO CHALLENGE 2000

Your class has been nominated to sponsor 1 hectare of zoo land anywhere in Australia. It is your job to choose three animals (two mammals and one reptile or amphibian)that can cohabitate and to design the enclosure. In order to do an excellent job you must conduct a thorough investigation of various animals first. Your submission must be presented in slide-show form and will be in competition with other nominated classes across Australia - SO DO A GOOD JOB!

* All the land must be used.

* The three animals you choose must be able to live in harmony (no fences).

What to do!!!

1: Fill in the table

2: Present points 3 to 8 below in slide-show format using either (Kid Pix or ClarisWorks)

3: What location for the land did you choose and why?

4: Which three animals from the table that you have filled in will you choose to live together.

5: What sort of habitat will be in their new enclosure?

6: What are the diets of all three animals?

7: Design a plaque for each animal outlining its habitat ,world wide distribution and diet.

8: Draw a sketch of the layout of the enclosure and describe what you will include in the enclosure to create the right habitat in terms of biological and physical aspects.
